Dr Lynn Imperatore

My practice and research is rooted in ‘representational’  drawing – though what I seek is a view upon an interior world: a fleeting glimpse of the less obviously visible, of a broadened area of possibility of  visual field and perceptual experience. As such, I draw to find out more about how the world looks to me – doing so in encounters with the imaginative world projected outside of the self – a world of imagery which is reflected back to that self as maker and as viewer. Such newly rendered worlds of drawing then take up their own independent and enduring existence as tangible trace and expressions.
